PROPOSAL DRAFT

1.1 BACKGROUND STUDY
      Wikipedia define fast food is a type of food that is prepared and served very quickly, typically low in nutritional value, and first popularized in the 1950s. while any meal with low preparation time can be considered fast food, typically the term refers to food sold in a restaurant or store with preheated or precooked ingredients, and served to the customer in a packaged form for take out/take away. According to dictionary, the terms 'Fast Food' recognized by Merriam-Webster (1951).

As in Malaysia, the first fast food chain were A&W restaurant. according to &W websites: "The A&W franchise was brought into Malaysia in 1963 by Mr and Mrs Lie Boff from USA. the first outlet opened in Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman making it the first fast food outlet in Malaysia. While in Malaysia, there is more than 1000 fast food outlet here in Malaysia including the stall near the road and burger stall.

In Parit raja, there is plenty of fast food stall were built along the road, include the famous fast food outlets such as KFC, McDonald, Subway and many more. Many fast food outlet in Parit Raja provided a economic food menu as suitable for the student population here. 

This study is focusing on level of consumption of fast food among Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysi (UTHM) student in terms of factor and gender differences cause for eating fast food. Why students like to eat fast food and are the realizing that the negative effect of fast food. scientific result proved that fast food is a type of dangerous food when people consume it often.

1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
      Fast food is a type that is prepared and served very quickly, typically low in nutritional   value. here in Parit raja, there is many fast food that people can get include the popular fast food which is KFC, Mc Donald, Subway, Dominos Pizza and others. instead of this popular fast food, here in Parit Raja also famous with stall near the road, and burger stall. half of the community here were student from Universitu Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). this study focused on level of consumption of fast food among UTHM students.

as known, fast food had a typically low in nutritional value but student rather eat that kind of food than cook itself because of time, busy with the assignment, and they don't spend much time at their house. all the cafeteria inside the campus, stall along the road full by the student than the people from Parit Raja. Most of the student needed a quick food be served to them and from that, they can save a lot of time and energy.

preparing their own food at house need a lot of work such as preparation, buying the household, and it take a lot of time for them to eat their meal. the levels of consumption of fast food among the UTHM student are obviously seen here in Parit Raja.


1.3 OBJECTIVES
      The research is based on this objectives:
  1. To identify the frequency of fast food consumption among UTHM student in one week
  2. To assess the level of student's understanding of the negative effect in consumed fast food
  3. To provide solution how to reduce level of consumption of fast food among UTHM student
1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF STUDY
      This study was undertake to find out about the level of consumption of fast food among University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) students. The importance of this research can benefits to all, especially for students itself.

1.4.1 Individual
         knowledge about the importance of proper diet pattern and increasing the awareness of individuals in relation to patterns of proper nutrition in order to maintain good health and be perfect in life

1.4.2 Student
         Proper nutrition among the generation that is fundamental to the future of the country. Menu planning in daily food intake of healthy and balanced diet will improve the quality of learning and the quality of life of a student. All planning is under control and can shape a community that is healthy and free of disease.

1.5 LIMITATION OF STUDY
  • in term of questionnaire, 50 students were targeted as our respondents and 50 data will be collected
  • in terms of location, the targets are students from University Tun Hussein Onn Only which is 25 of male and 25 of female

The main constraints are methods used to collect the data.


1.6 METHODOLOGY
      Quantitative and qualitative research methods were employed in order to achieve the objectives, which include a questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview survey. The research that was carried out about the level of consumption of fast food among UTHM student

1.6.1 Document/journal
       Official documents or scholarly journals are used to support the research project in order to be able to support findings and discussion on data analysis data interpretation.

1.6.2 A Set Of Question
         Will be prepared though Google document based on our title project and will distributed to 50 respondents in order to obtain for data analysis and making conclusion and recommendations.

1.6.3 An Interviews
         Will conducted on a students to obtain information for data analysis and making conclusion and recommendations.

Research title
Level Of consumption of Fast Food Among University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) Students.

1. As our group member discussed, this study will be on going at UTHM area and as the respondent, we will pick about 50 respondent among the student.

2. All the information will be collected from the data, and related literature, journal, and article.
